My name is but my close ones call me cherry. I am a creative sixteen year old who has her life on point. You’re looking at the future Criminal justice major or even the future United States Coast Guard commander. Who knows where I might be in ten yeas from now, but where ever it might be I will be great. I am an outgoing, curly hair; hazel eyed Boriqua Bella who thrives for what she wants. I am enrolled at Vanguard High School scheduled to graduate June of 210. I have been currently rocken to the beats as a hip hop/ salsa dancer. Dancing is my passion and I let know one hold me back.
Sidra khatkhatay started off as intern in SMOP 07. Sidra didn't know much about media until SMOP and learning and interacting with different types of media she discovered a new found interest. Learning about new and different types of media and creating a documentary at the end of the summer she can stand tall and say she is very proud of it today. Working with other youths her age and hearing all types of recreations of media she was inspired o keep her love for media alive. In her free time she enjoys eating, swimming, reading , writing and spending time with her family.
Nathaniel Robinson was born on February 5, 1990. He attends the High School of Economics & Finance in lower Manhattan. Nate loves music especially Hip-Hop and R&B. His favorite rappers are Jay-Z, the Notorious B.I.G. and T.I. This year Nate is graduating and he was named captain of his school's basketball team. Nate joined Radio Rootz through his school. He loves learning about the media and the tools on how to become a good journalist. When he graduates Nate plans studying communications in college, thanks to the education and guidance from the Radio Rootz staff.
Shaun Abreu, 17, was born in Washington Heights in the Presbyterian Hospital. Shaun was introduced to Radio Rootz when he was in the 6th grade at Crossroads middle school in Spanish Harlem. He produced a radio feature that has been played on Mother's Day every single year on WBAI. Shaun now loves Radio and Media Literacy!
Mihai Malciu is from Romania. He likes to travel, and he has lived in the Netherlands, Nigeria, Hungary, and now in the United States for 3 years. He had many opportunities that helped him know what he wants to be in the future.
