Our 9th graders from EBC Bushwick High School enjoyed a fun day at
Univision Radio, located on Madison Avenue. "I can't believe they're 3
radio stations in one office" wrote Marvin Martinez, in his journal.
The eventful tour included stops at the three studios housed in the
building for X96.3 (Tropical/Latin Station), 92.3 La Que Buena
(Regional Mexican Station), and Wado 1280AM (Spanish News Station). The
highlight of the day was when midday host, Jako, opened the mics up to
our students. Click here to watch the video

This past Saturday, Radio Rootz presented a workshop during the Sixth
Annual Grassroots Media Conference in Hunter College.
Staying true to their mission of not only creating a more diverse, ethical, and independent media, but also using media as a tool for social change, Rootz youth discussed how they work towards their goal. In addition, these workshop attendees got hands-on training on how to produced a vox-pop and went right onto the field to put their new skills to practice and asked conference goers what this year's conference theme "From Hope to Action" meant to them.
Listen to the final piece!
