The White Night Riots broke out in San Francisco after Dan White, the man who assassinated mayor George Moscone and city Supervisor Harvey Milk, was sentenced to only 7 years in prison. Harvey Milk, a charismatic and strong willed politician, was openly gay and represented many positive changes for the LGBT community. After the crowd thinned, humiliated police officers stormed the streets of San Francisco’s Castro district beating people.
