Alien Tells NYC "The Internet is Serious Business"

Attention: open in a new window. PrintE-mail

A collaboration between PPH, Center for Urban Pedagogy (CUP), and students from City-As-Schools.

As we rely more on the Internet as a tool for communication, education, employment, and research information, it is important that we understand more about how the Internet works. "The Internet is Serious Business" is a video about the Internet's physical infrastructure, who owns it, how it works, and why that matters.

In addition to the video, we have also developed a comprehensive workshop series around the concepts and themes in the film. Our workshops are aimed at engaging classrooms, community centers, and audiences in a meaningful conversation about how we can make the Internet better and make it work for us. We have packaged our teaching tools and workshop activities in a short companion guide that educators and facilitators can use to conduct workshops in their own communities.

To order your own copy of "The Internet is Serious Business" or for more information on workshop guide and up coming screenings, please contact Kristofer Ríos.
