Medios Caminantes Network, a collection of Spanish-language media makers across the nation and Latin America born from this years Allied Media Conference, will be broadcasting a 12 hours of live radio program from 10 different cities in the United States and Mexico. With the participation of 15 immigrant organizations, the all day Spanish-language broadcast is a protest against the racist policies of the government of Arizona and the absence of a clear immigration policy at the federal level. Community News Production Institute reporter Zoilo Blas and PPH's Carlos Pareja will be participating in the broadcast from Make the Road/Se Hace Camino, Jackson Heights. Rio de Janeiro recently hired former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani to help with security ahead of the 2016 Olympics. Residents of Rio are already seeing Giuliani-esq enforcements by the police. CNPI reporter Kristofer Ríos recently wrote this article for the Indypendent on the Giuliani style crackdown in Rio.
