This month's show features Lynn Lewis, director of Picture the Homeless, Edgar DeJesus of District Council 37, Katrina evacuee Lena Beard, and Brumit DeLaine, the son of late Rev. Joseph Armstrong of South Carolina.

This month's show is dedicated to the memory of Rev. Joseph Armstrong DeLaine, a pioneer in the civil rights era who led a crusade to desegregate schools in South Carolina. Rev. DeLaine was the victorious plaintiff in one of the critical cases that constituted the Brown decision, Briggs vs. Elliot. Every Labor Day since his death in 1974, his community in South Carolina commemorates his legacy to remind us about his fight for equal rights for all Black children in schools.
