Mihai Malciu :: Mihai Malciu is from Romania. He likes to travel, and he has lived in the Netherlands, Nigeria, Hungary, and now in the United States for 3 years. He had many opportunities that helped him know what he wants to be in the future.<br /> When he comes to the United States in 2005 he joined Radio Rootz. During the summer of 2007 he was a Radio Rootz peer trainer. Through the Radio Rootz experience he got an interest in media. What he likes most and is good at recording, interviewing, and helping his peers.<br /> Now he is a student at Kingsborough community college where he studies Broadcasting Technology & Management. However, last year he got certified in cisco networking and Computer A+ repair. Marya Tambawalla :: My name is Marya Tambawalla and I am 18 years old. I live in Queens, NY, where i was born and raised. Some of my hobbies include writing and reading. I joined Radio Rootz in the summer of 2006 for the summer internship and decided to continue working with them as a trainer. Jose Martin Olivares :: Jose Martin Olivares is from Mexico City. He participates in Adelate Alliance non-profit organization, helping with the Plazas Comunitarias program (education for adult people), community outreach, organizing, and is the coordinator of the media collective. Martin was a key organizer in Adelante Alliance's forum on immigration. He taught Spanish language at INEA's adult educational program in Mexico City from 1998 to 2000. Seeing the education needs of his community in Sunset Park, he decided to use his experience as a teacher to assist with the instruction of the Plazas Comunitarias program. Now days he also participates in Radio Rootz program, where is getting the skills to produce radio.

Kyra Joseph :: My name is Kyra Joseph. I was born in the beautiful islands of Trinidad & Tobago. I love dancing and rapping, but radio production, and media as a whole is my passion. My overall goal is to become a radio or TV personnel. Radio Rootz has helped me to become familiarized with the media, bringing me several steps closer to my dream. In the fall I am planning on studying journalism in college. Ireece Underwood :: Ireece has been involved with Radio Rootz since late 2004. An aspiring writer, Ireece recently represented Rootz at the the 2007 Allied Media Conference in Detroit. Mera Beckford :: Mera is an able, unwavering, and self-starting seventeen year old. She enjoys reading, writing, cycling, and doing new things. Mera grew up in Arverne, New York with her single mother and twin brother, Malcolm. Of her family she says, 'They’re annoying sometimes but it’s nice to have people I can count on.' 2006 being her senior year at Brooklyn Technical High School, Mera looks forward to attending college outside of New York State. When she’s through with school Mera will be a news anchor/reporter
